Privacy Policy

Women in Work, the Women's Leadership Summit & Careers Expo, is run by the Institute of Capacity Building (ABN 59 467 482 324). This policy explains what personal information we collect through womeninwork.com.au, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
The short version
- We collect the details you give us when you register, and nothing more than we need.
- We use them to contact you about Women in Work, and about other ICB events only if you tick the box.
- We never sell your information, and we only share it with the services that help us run the site.

Who we are
The event and this website are operated by the Institute of Capacity Building (ABN 59 467 482 324), a for-purpose organisation based in New South Wales. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean the Institute of Capacity Building and its Women in Work event team. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@womeninwork.com.au.
What we collect
Details you give us
Right now the only form on this site is the register-your-interest form. It asks for:
- your first and last name
- your email address
- your mobile number (optional)
- your postcode or suburb (optional)
- which part of the event interests you
- anything you choose to tell us about what you hope to get from the day
- whether you would like updates about future ICB events
Please keep sensitive information, such as health details, out of the free-text field. We do not need it and would rather not hold it.
As registration opens
Closer to the event, this site will grow to include event registration and ticketing. When it does, we may also ask for the details those need, such as a username and password if you set up an account, or your ticket choices. We will update this policy before we start collecting anything new.
If we sell tickets through this site, payments will be handled by a dedicated payment provider. We will not store your card details.
Details collected automatically
Like most websites, our server records some technical information when you submit the form: your IP address, your browser type and the time of your submission. We use this only to keep the site secure and to filter out spam.
How we collect it
Everything we hold about you comes from you, through the forms on this site. We do not buy lists or gather details about you from anywhere else. You can browse the whole site without giving us any personal information at all; we only need your details if you want us to contact you.
Why we collect it
We use your details to:
- keep you up to date about Women in Work, including the moment tickets and registration open, and speaker and programme announcements
- once registration opens, set up your registration or account and manage your booking
- understand who is coming, so we can plan the Summit and the Expo well
- send you news about future ICB events, but only if you opted in
- keep the site secure, including limiting repeated form submissions
No spam, and no surprises. If you opted in to ICB updates you can change your mind at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe link in any update we send.
Storage and security
Your details are stored in a secure database and are only accessible to the small team running the event. New registrations are also delivered to the event team's mailbox so we can respond to you. Information travels between your browser and our server over an encrypted connection, and we take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. If a data breach ever put your information at risk, we would notify you and the regulator as the Privacy Act requires.
We keep registration details until a reasonable period after the event wraps up in August 2027, then delete or de-identify them. If you would like your details removed sooner, just ask.
When we share information
We never sell or rent your personal information. We share it only:
- within the Institute of Capacity Building, the organisation presenting the event
- with service providers that help us run the site, such as web hosting and email delivery
- with Cloudflare, whose Turnstile service checks that the registration form is being filled in by a person and not a bot
- with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits to the site
- if the law requires us to
Our service providers only receive what they need to do their job, and they are not permitted to use your information for anything else.
Turnstile sees technical details about your visit, such as your IP address and browser, but not what you type into the form. Cloudflare uses those details only to detect and block bots. Its Turnstile Privacy Addendum explains how it handles them.
Cloudflare Web Analytics tells us how many people visit each page, which sites referred them, and roughly where in the world they are. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites. We only ever see totals, never a record of any one visitor.
Overseas disclosure
We aim to keep your information in Australia wherever practicable. Some of the services that help us run the site, such as email delivery, bot protection, visitor analytics and cloud infrastructure, may process data overseas, most likely in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies
This site uses only the essential cookies it needs to work: one to keep your session and one that protects our forms from forged submissions. The Cloudflare bot check on the registration form may also store a small amount of data in your browser, used only to tell people from bots. Our visitor counts come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies at all. There is no advertising and no tracking across other sites. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and tell you clearly on the site.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@womeninwork.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. You can also update your details yourself by registering again with the same email address.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please tell us first at hello@womeninwork.com.au and we will look into it and reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will email you about it before it takes effect.
